Rising sea levels are a big risks for New Zealand. Sea levels could rise until 2050. New Zealand has published its first draft national plan on how the country can adapt to rising sea levels and other climate risks. Government says that One in seven people in New Zealand lives in flood-prone areas, and sea levels are rising 2.4 milimeters each year. Also says that the rate of rising sea levels for 60 years to 2020 is more than double that of the previous 60 years.
